Support and Resistance — the Foundation of Charts

guide
S/R are price memory: floors where buyers historically appeared, ceilings where sellers did.
Level by level
Beginner
Draw ZONES, not lines — markets respect areas. The more touches and the higher the volume there, the more the level matters.
Intermediate
Polarity is the superpower: broken resistance becomes support (and vice versa). Retests of flipped levels are among the highest-quality entries in trading.
Advanced
Levels concentrate liquidity: stops cluster beyond them, which is why false breaks (stop hunts) are common right before the real move. Trade the retest, not the first poke.
Common mistakes
- Drawing 15 lines until everything is a level
- Buying the first touch of support in a waterfall downtrend
